Florence

On the river Arno, surrounded by hills planted with olive trees and vineyards, Florence
is doubtless the most famous and charming cities of Tuscany. It is one of the top
tourist destinations of the world, thanks to the exceptional beauties of its old town
centre, rich in monuments and wonderful churches, that can be completely
appreciated from the surrounding hills, especially from Forte Belvedere, Piazzale
Michelangelo and the hill of Fiesole, from which it is possible to enjoy one of the most
fascinating panoramic view of the Arno valley. The most famous building of Florence
is Palazzo Vecchio that is located in the central square of the city, Piazza della
Signoria. Nearby there is the Galleria degli Uffizi, one of the most renowned art
museum of the world. On the left bank of the river Arno, there is the great Palazzo
Pitti, and behind it the Giardino di Boboli begins. But the architectural jewel of
Florence is the cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, simply known as "il Duomo", with its
magnificent dome designed by Brunelleschi and the belfry by Giotto. But Florence is
not only art and culture: the city that during the day offers its artistic marvels, at
night comes to life, between the lights that brighten the most hidden streets and the
crowded bars full of young people always trying to have a good time and to meet
new people.
